Dr. Conery received his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He attended graduate school as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute predoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology for his work on crosstalk between the TGF-beta and AKT signaling pathways in the laboratory of Dr. Kunxin Luo. He was an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Ed Harlow at Harvard Medical School, where he used functional genomic screens to study the development of genomic instability during early tumorigenesis. Dr. Conery has been with Constellation Pharmaceuticals since 2010, where he worked as a research scientist and project leader in Discovery Biology prior to transitioning to his current role as Director of Functional Genomics.
